My name is Eddrick Butler, and I am a 2017 graduate of Base Camp Coding Academy in Water Valley, Mississippi. I attended and graduated from North Panola High School in Sardis, MS with the Class of 2016. I was nominated for Base Camp Coding academy last April, 2016 by my Algebra III teacher, Mrs. Dixon and I am so grateful for the opportunity. This last year has been incredibly rewarding. I am excited about applying all that I learned in the classroom, to my current internship with FedEx.
During my time at Base Camp, I learned that I enjoy working with the front end, including HTML, CSS, JS, and more. I chose Web Development as my favorite because, in my opinion, I think is the most contractible language you can learn. I’ve had a prior experience with HTML at my vocational school 3 years ago. At the time, I didn’t know anything about using a profound text editor or what I was writing. To me, I thought it was like magic, but it’s really like putting together a puzzle. Once you find the right pieces to work with and it matches what you want, then the results will be amazing.
In addition to learning web development skills, I have really grown my public speaking abilities. Admittedly public speaking was new to me until Base Camp. As part of my graduation project, it was mandatory to present my Django presentation to the Board of Base Camp. Each student had 3 cumulative projects to complete to graduate. The following projects were a Python Project, a Web-Dev Project (Basic and Dynamic), and a Django Project, which all had to be constructed into a rental store front. The project/program had to rent, replace, and return an item from the inventory and give a final price once the item is purchased. As my turn to present neared, I remembered advice from a FedEx Manager to inhale for 10 seconds and then exhale and if you’re still nervous, just pretend that you’re not. When I stood up to present, I impressed everybody in the room, including the students and teachers because they all know that I am a little bit quiet. I am really proud of my performance and look forward to continuing to improve my public speaking skills.
Outside of the classroom, I also enjoy playing the piano. The music instrumentals are mostly Gospel and some made-up jazz tunes, but nothing fancy. Whenever I grow tired of creating code for websites, I focus my attention towards the keyboard and let the music flow through.
I plan on becoming both a successful Web Developer and a Musician. I know that all the education I have received, will soon pay off in my career. I am excited about the opportunity to learn more and grow at FedEx and hope that I can bring the organization value.GTA V JSON Cheats
